Welcome to Club Européen

CE Marking has now been with us since the early 1990’s when the UK Government was faced with transposing the EMC Directive into English Law and introducing the necessary legislation. In 1993 the DTI established 16 EMC Compliance Clubs throughout the country. Their brief was to help industry meet their obligations under the new directives by providing an information service, knowledge & expertise in the field of EMC, expert help and guidance and a focal point where all CE related issues could be addressed.

The Wales EMC Club was established in 1993 and soon became one of the most successful clubs in the country. In 1996 Wales EMC became Club Européen, and although it’s core activity remains EMC, the club has continued to grow and evolve and now provides a focal point for many other directives. Although many of the original clubs are no longer active, Club Européen remains strong and alive and is still one of the most proactive and successful clubs in the country.

The Club’s success is due to the continued support of it’s members, the high profile and calibre of it’s guest speakers and of course the enthusiasm of the Steering Committee. Their professionalism and commitment is unstinting and they continue to provide expertise help and guidance on all administrative, technical, legal and enforcement issues relating to CE Marking.  Through the committee,  members have to access to technical expertise, namas acreditated test houses and enforcement officers.  The Club's relationship with the University of Glamorgan and Coleg Sir Gar allows members to access many other bodies of specialist and academic knowledge.
